These photographs were taken during the making of "Suddenly Last Summer," directed by Joseph Mankiewicz. Screenplay adapted by Gore Vidal from the play by Tennessee Williams. Starring Elizabeth Taylor, Montgomery Clift and Katherine Hepburn.

In the film, wealthy widow Violet Venable's (K. Hepburn) only son dies while on vacation with his cousin Catherine (E. Taylor). What the girl witnessed was so terrible that she went insane; now Mrs. Venable wants Catherine lobotomized to cover up the truth.
