An old terror is stalking the villages in the Bengal Delata in India, the awesome appetite of man eating tigers who have moved from their sanctuaries in Bangladesh because of increased poachers, to the calmer mangrove forests of the region. Amidst the thousands of islands of the West Bengal Delta, the Sundarbans reserve covers an area of 4,262 Kilometers, where these tigers have killed at least 50 persons per year. Arapur (Abode of Rest) has now been renamed Vidwapara (The widows village) as here among 250 huts, there is a widow in every 5 families, making 60 village widows from tiger attacks.
