Harry Gruyaert

by Harry Gruyaert
In conjunction with the retrospective of Harry Gruyaert at La Maison européenne de la Photographie, Magnum Gallery inaugurates its new premises with an exhibition of the Belgian photographer.

For Harry Gruyaert, photography is a physical experience. Greatly influenced by the American tradition, epitomized by Saul Leiter, William Eggleston and Stephen Shore, and by cinema, he created a highly personal palette. His work defined a new territory for color photography: an emotive, non-narrative, and boldly graphic way of perceiving the world.

Harry Gruyaert will be signing his new book the evening of the opening, April 16, 2015
