"JFK For President" presents photographs of John F. Kennedy's 1960 electoral campaign and the early days of his presidency by one of the foremost humanist photographers of his generation, Cornell Capa. Capa began photographing Kennedy for "Life" magazine during the Wisconsin primary in 1960. After the election, he continued to photograph the inauguration, and stayed on in the White House to document the first one hundred days of the Kennedy administration. After developing a warm relationship with Jacqueline Kennedy, she later collaborated with Capa to create the International Center of Photography, one of the first museums devoted exclusively to photography. "JFK For President" is an important book with images containing a powerful visual magic that manifest the spirit of the times.
