Emin Ozmen
TURKEY, Mardin, 30 September 2020. Halit 47 (middle) his wife Souda 55 (left) and son Ali 14 (right) pose in their house in Istasyon neighbourhood in Mardin, where thousands of Syrian refugees live together with host community.
Souda felt very bad last July, she went to the emergency service of the hospital in Mardin. There she was diagnosed positive for COVID-19. She says the pain took a month and a half to be completely cured.
"They wanted to keep me in the hospital, but who would take care of my children? So I refused and went home, the police told me not to leave the house for 15 days. I put myself in a separate room, started wearing mask at home to not spread the virus into my family.’
