On the road in Tversakya Oblast with
Irek Murtazin who is special correspondent at Novaya Gazeta. In December 2008, he was attacked and beaten near his Kazan apartment by unidentified persons. After having published a book on the former Tatar President he was prisoned for one year and 9 months. After his release he moved to Moscow and started working at Novaya Gazeta.

Usually Irek Murtazin focuses on long investigative reports about corruption. Here he is on a research trip in Tverskaya Oblast, north of Moscow, talking to locals who witnessed a plane crash that is now on trial. During a military exercise, one of the pilots unexpectedly fired a short burst of shells at the Su-30 and pierced the other fighter‘s wing. As a result, the plane lost control, and both pilots had to urgently eject. The fighter itself crashed in the forest, and is now demanded to recover more than a billion rubles from the pilot who shot down the plane intentionally.
