AFGHANISTAN. Bamyan. December 5, 2021. Mulavi Abdullah Sarhadi, the newly-appointed Taliban Governor of Bamiyan Province, served in senior Taliban positions in the same province during the 1996-2001 Taliban regime. He was reportedly involved in a series of massacres in Bamiyan against the Hazara population in early 2001, and in the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas.
