ISRAEL. Jerusalem. August 6, 2014. Najah Abed Al-Dayem, 51 years old. She was at the Abu Hussein UN school when it was hit. Husband and son killed. 2 sons are injured. One is at hospital in Nablus another in Egypt. She is from Beit Lahia. She has stomach and head trauma. Shrapnel and burns everywhere. Lost sight in right eye.
St Josephs French Hospital in East Jerusalem. The hospital, owned by the Vatican, was treating the patients pro-bono. 42 had arrived since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge. 3 children have had their limbs amputated. Patients arrived after primary medical treatment. Patients received permits and came through following coordination between Israel, Red Cross, and Red Crescent. Permits are temporary and only for the hospital, meaning they cannot leave the hospital premises.
