Sednaya, Syria. December 16, 2024.
Sednaya Prison, located north of SYRIA. Damascus. looms as a symbol of fear and brutality, its stark concrete walls concealing the horrors that have unfolded within. Known as one of the most notorious detention facilities in the world, it has been described as a place of systematic torture, enforced disappearances, and mass executions. The facility became infamous during the Syrian Civil War, as countless political prisoners, activists, and civilians were reportedly held in inhumane conditions, subjected to starvation, abuse, and extrajudicial killings. Survivors' testimonies paint a grim picture of life inside, with silence and death pervading its overcrowded cells.
