Fleeing the Taliban advance in the summer of 2021, the number of refugees (mostly Afghans) arriving in Turkey has increased dramatically. For several months, hundreds of people from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan were trying to cross the Turkish border (via Iran) illegally every day.
