NIGERIA. Lagos, Boundary market in Ajengule. 05 December 2022. In the center, Happiness Eboh at the market to buy hair products for her clients.
Happiness grew up in Ajegunle, a 550,000 inhabitants disadvantaged neighboorhood in the West of Lagos. She got pregnant at 16, and as a single young mother in very-low income situation she received help from a governement owned center in Ajeromi, Young Mom's Clinic (YMC). There, she also acquired digital skills that helped her opening a hair styling home-service business. She earns an average 10-15$ per client and has 5-6 clients per week. "I love it so much, not just because it’s my source of income and my profession but also because I love making my customers happy." Thanks to her job, she is independent and able to take care of herself. "I hope to build up my own empire one day, to be successful and make my family proud."
