"In 2019 I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety after having reached a point of contemplating suicide. I started therapy and was always passionate about reproductive health especially Obstetrics when I was younger and so I decided to train to become a Doula to support women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I realized at the time that it was very difficult to find doulas who work in Cairo. They had no social media presence and there was no awareness whatsoever about what doulas do. And so Motherbeing launched as a way for me to teach people about my profession as well as market my services. I really wanted to help as many expecting mothers as possible, but when Covid hit, attending births wasn't very accessible, and so I started creating online ZOOM classes tackling reproductive health topics that served the masses."
