JAPAN. Tokyo. Shinjuku. November 2nd, 2022. Food distribution at “Niji Imanuel Church” where Miyako Fukuda volunteers at the soup kitchen for for homeless and poor people.
Ms. Miyako Fukuda, owner of the bar “Le Matin” in Golden Gai (street) in Shinjuku where she works alone, as well volunteers once a week at a neighbouring church where she runs a soup kitchen.
Every Wednesday, about 70 people, including the homeless and poor, come to the soup kitchen at “Rainbow Immanuel Church”, run by a 70-year-old female Korean pastor, who has been running for 18 years. The soup kitchen is staffed by 10 people.
Food is distributed from donations from individuals and food banks.
