USA. Los Angeles. July 2025. Malik Hayat, 42. He came from Pakistan aged 17. Co-owner of Nikki’s Halal Restaurant and Transportation Business, he also rents luxury cars to celebrities for special events. He struggled speaking English and had no money at the beginning of his journey. He applied to the Troy State University in Alabama to learn English. After 9/11, he said he noticed increasing racism. He became a U.S. citizen in 2008, enrolled at California State Fullerton and earned two bachelor’s degrees, one in Accounting and another in Finance. He believes compassion should not be limited to race, religion, or any background. He and his business owner feeds walking homeless people everyday.
