ETHIOPIA. Wollo district. Near Korem. Refugees from a famine caused by a two year drought gather at a government site. Most have no shelter and recieve only grain as relief food, which has to be prepared before it can be eaten. There is also a severe shortage of fire wood. Over 41,000 people have been registered in need of food in this one area and the government estimated that 4 million people are liable to be affected by the drought. 1983.
