GB. England. Liverpool. The Maritime Mercantile City was made an official UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2004. St. Georges Hall in the Cultural Quarter around William Brown Street. Said to be one of the finest Neo Classical buildings in the world it was built in 1854 and modelled on the Parthenon in Athens. It is now being restored with heritage lottery funding. 2004
