SOUTH AFRICA. Johannesburg. Joubert Park. Learning how to grow your own vegetables organically has been one of the great demonstration projects of the Joubert Park greenhouse project. Organic farming means less use of fossil fuel-based fertilisers and chemical pesticides so contributes less to climate change, soil erosion and water shortages than conventional farming. There are also fewer adverse effects on the health of growers. 2004.
