Zhoushan is a city built on an archipelago of more than 1000 islands south of the mouth of the Yangtse river near Shanghai. Zhoushan main island is the fourth largest island, after Hainan, Taiwan and Chongming and linked to the mainland by a 46 kilometre road bridge. Zhoushan consists of islands large and small of which only about 100 are inhabited. Zhoushan is China's largest fishing port serving the fourth largest fishing area of the world.
