Long chain plastic polymers can now be made from the renewable raw material of Ricin, derived from Ricin seeds rather than before when only non renewable petroleum products were used. The plastics derived from this process have multiple applications and the product was recently used in the manufacture of the Puma football boots used in the World Cup 2014.
