Singapore. Two veiled Muslim women walk among the forestry of the unspolt island of Pulau Ubin, located in the channel between Singapore Island (off the north east coast) and the Malaysian mainland. The island offers a glimpse of what Singpore island was like in the 50s - lush tropical forests, low traditional buildings and an experience of one of the last rural landscapes in Singapore. With its abundance of natural flora and fauna, it supports significant numbers of visiting and resident birds, some of which are threatened species. 2014
