Old Romney, to the south Dungeness It covers an area of approximately 114 acres of land at Sycamore Farm and is equipped with around 73,000 solar panels, which each have a capacity of 245 watts. This clean energy facility provides the national grid with 19MWp of power, enough to account for over six thousand households. Although the site will produce clean energy the solar farm has angered countryside campaigners because ithas been built on prime farmland and because of the environmental impact it is having.

The Council for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) has said it would damage the countryside, take up valuable growing-land and put wildlife at risk.
