Interviewed by Ian Jack, published in Granta issue 60. 1997. Janet TINBERGEN. A music teacher who plays the cello and piano, she lives alone on the fringes of Oxford. She wrote to the Independent because she was 'appalled by the injustice' of public demands that the Queen should be seen to grieve.
