Peter Marlow
G.B. ENGLAND. London. The regeneration of the London Docklands. The Royal Docks. The largest docks ever built by Man. On the edge of the Enterprise zone, the development of this area will contain a STOL airport, which opens in 1987. Closed less than five years ago the docks are reminiscent of an era gone by, trade and ships long since gone to the deeper water up river. Closed due to restrictive practices by dockers, but also due to the changing nature of the work caused by containerisation, all that remains are empty warehouses and abandoned cranes. 1987.
