USA. Chicago. The imposing 27-storey triangular Metropolitan Correctional Center, built by Harry Weese in 1975, to accommodate 400 remand prisoners. Today over 700 mostly black prisoners attempt to see daylight though 5 inch wide windows the widest aperture allowed by the Bureau of Prison standards. The upper levels of the building are for inmates, with judicial courts below. The exercise area is on the roof so there is little chance of escape. 2003
