Alessandra Sanguinetti
California. July, 2020. Ivy L.
I’ve called the Police twice in my life:
The first time was when I phoned 911 when my roommate had taken too many pills cause he wanted to die and the Police came and tackle him to the ground, I mean this was a peaceful guy who never raised his voice or hand- a very nice gentle person and they tackle them and had their knees on his neck. There were four guys on top of him, rubbing my roomates face into the floor- I saw that I've been
terrified of the police ever since.
The second time was when my 15 yr old daughter ran away and I was so desperate that I called the Police and they were brutal to me. I think because I lived in a trailer then and they judged me, and so the Policeman said “don't worry about her, she's probably already on heroin and prostituting herself”
I felt like I'd been slapped in the face.. I should have complained but then again , you're complaining to the police about the police so I never did.
And, yeah, happy ending, her Dad found her at the store with her friends.
