Teachers and children from various schools in the city dress up to re-enact the sealing by King John of the Magna Carta, a document prepared by his barons who were rebelling against his rule. Here the children pray before beginning their transformations into barons and ladies of King John's Court. In the background the tomb and effigy of William Longespee, Earl of Salisbury (1226), the illegitimate son of Henry II and half brother to King John. It was this knight who brought the Magna Carta to the cathedral. . 2015
