Ian Berry
G.B. England. Worcestershire. Worcester. Worcester Cathedral. King John, it is written, died of dysentery, or was poisened by a monk at Swineshead Abbey or ate and drank too much while there. Whatever afflicted him, he died three days later in Newark Castle. King John expressed a wish to be buried at Worcester Cathedral with the saints Wulstan and Oswald to look after him in the next life. Effigies of the saints are carved next to his head, St Oswald on his left side, St Wulstan on his right. 2015
