USA. Fort Apache Cemetery, Apache Reservation, Arizona. Indian scout’s grave
During the “military period”, 1870 – 1922. US soldiers as well as “Indian scouts” and their families were buried at Fort Apache. When the Army abandoned the fort, white remains were relocated to a federal cemetery in New Mexico. Indian graves remain. The cemetery continues to be occasionally used.
