Armenia. Tavush. 2013. Kristine Arakelyan lives in Ayrum in northern Armenia. Since the Soviet fruit processing plants closed in the 1990s, there has been no work for anyone in the community. Most people rely on growing or picking fruit to sell at the roadside or to any shops or wholesalers who will buy. In 2013, Oxfam helped the community co-op to build a small fruit processing factory to give some of co-op members jobs and to give the community a place to sell their fruit for a guaranteed and fair price.

(3 yrs), Kristine, Avag (husband).
