Cristina Garcia Rodero
Armenia. Tavush. 2013. "Kristine lives in a one-room abandoned bakery in Ayrum with her husband and her six children. They are one of the poorest families in the community. Kristine tries to earn a little money by picking berries from the forest and selling them at the roadside. If she's lucky she'll make a few pounds a day.
"I try to make some money by selling fruit that I pick in the forest. It takes about an hour to walk there and then an hour back again to the main road where I try to sell what I've picked to passing cars.
If I find fruit to pick and customers, we will eat that day. If not, we will go hungry. If I sell a whole bucket, I can earn around 1, 000 dram. With this I can buy food: cooking oil, pasta, rice, potatoes, maybe a little meat."
