TURKEY. Savasankoy, Sanliurfa. 2008. A fallen roof outside an abandoned house in Savasankoy. The turquoise water in the background flooded over 30 homes as well as the gardens that gave life to the village. The village was abandoned after it was half-submerged under the flood waters of the Birecik Dam in 1999.
