Newsha Tavakolian
IRAN. Zardkuh, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari. 2018. Safoura Alimardani, 60 years old waiting for her family to bring their equipments and stuff to the other side of a river close to Chama- Ghaar Yakhi (Ice Cave) which is is their tent’s place for the next 6 months. Bakhtiari women don’t receive any inheritance due to their tradition. There were only few ones who asked or even made a complaint. Many of them believes that their fathers inheritance is their brother’s rights and if they ask for a share means stealing from their brothers which is a worst thing a woman can do. In Bakhtiari tribes, most of the women highly believe that their brothers are their main supporters in life and if there will be a problem in their lives it’s only their brother whom they can rely on.
