IRAN. Zardkuh, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari. 2018. Sootiam Abdolahi, 9 years old standing with her grandmother Khatti Abdolahi, 70 years old in front of their tent. Sootiam is the only child in her family. She moved with her family to Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari right after she finished her school exams in Khuzestan province. In Abdolahi family there were cases which the siblings were only girls and they didn’t receive inheritance even they had no brother and the share went to the uncles and boy-cousins. It’s a tradition in Bakhtiari families that girls don’t have a share from the inheritance.
