POLAND. Sopot. May 16, 2017.
The mapping of the Baltic seabed takes place with no use of light. Its image is built by means of acoustic waves, which are invisible to the human eye. The sound is turned into visual record by specialist equipment, thanks to which scientists are able to reproduce the topography of the sea depths. Most of us have no access to the area, which triggers your imagination.
The photographs were taken in the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Sopot, Poland
