USA. San Jose, CA. 2018. Nancy lopez, an Afro-Mexican-Cuban trans woman, works as a dishwasher at oracle in downtown san jose and commutes to and from work on her bike. She’s Starting now to do gig work as a cook through her union and her dream is to become a chef. when she first arrived in san jose, she slept on a park bench. She is now renting a converted back porch which she decorated herself. She came as a refugee, and sought asylum in the US, fleeing violence at home in veracruz, mexico.
