11-year-old Omar Faal (center), from Gambia, lost his father when rubber boat in which they were being smuggled yo Italy capsized in theMediterranean Sea. More than 70 people died in this incident, and Omar and other survivors were rescued by Libyan Coast
Guard. Omar now is being kept in the Annasser detention camp in Zawiyah. His mother, still in Gambia,
wants him to continue his journey to Italy. To go to school there, she says on the phone. She wants him to have a better future.
