IRAN. Khuzestan. 2018. Zahra Amiri, 61 years old, has 9 children. She is now moving with their neighbours toward Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province for the summer, where is more possible to find grasslands and water needed for the flock. Her husband couldn’t move with them because of his backache and he will join them on the last days of moving with a car. In their case because of the family’s economical situation they have to walk over 20 days with their sheep as renting a truck was so expensive for them. It costs almost the same price of 3 sheep for each way. Forouzan, 24 years old, riding her horse. Nomads Women are not satisfied with their lives. The only joy for them is to drink tea.
Even the flock couldn’t help their family to earn something and there are many difficulties shepherding them. This year Khuzestan Province was facing serious drought so there are no grasslands at all and they don’t know how to feed the flock. The family believes that this year is the worst one among many years they have been moving and shepherding.
