ROMANIA. Bucharest. Vacare?ti. 1938. Vacaresti Monastery. In 1848 Vacaresti became a place of detention for the leaders of the revolution an stays the official state prison. Walls are shaken by earthquakes and lack of interest of the authorities determine continuous degradation of the building. A devasting earthquake in 1977 caused severe damage in the Monastery.
