Africa. Morocco. Souss-Massa. 2017. Taroudant is a city in the Souss Valley in southern Morocco. It is situated east of Agadir on the road to Ouarzazate and the Sahara desert. The town is known as the grandmother of Marrakesh because it looks like a smaller version with its surrounding ramparts. Taroudant has the feel of a small fortified market town on a caravan route with almost the entire city located inside its walls. Here a guide pours mint tea for tourists.
