IRAN. 2017. Iranian Kurdish family dancing and packing their stuff by the Caspian sea before leaving to return to their hometown, Kermanshah (Western part of Iran).
Parvin Mahdavi, 1981, from Kermanshah, Housewife.
-Who are the people with you? What’s your relation ship?
We are all siblings with our children. Actually we are 2 sisters with our husbands and children.
-Why did you choose here for vacation?
Well, first of all we wanted to have a change other than daily life. We don’t have a sea in our city. We loved to have a family trip because it really makes us closer and brings the family together.
-Where do you stay at nights?
We camp by the see although it’s illegal.
-How was camping by the sea?
Some of the campsites were not really good, they didn’t even have toilets and drinking water and that makes the camping really hard. The best one was Darya-Pari, which is so close to Kelarabad.
-Where will you go from here?
We will drive to Rasht and then Qazvin. From Qazvin we go to Hamedan and then we will arrive to Kermanshah, our city that we all missed a lot.
-Is it your last time by the see?
Yes, we just said goodbye to the see and now we are dancing to make good memories in the last hours.
-What did you pack for this trip?
It’s better to ask what didn’t we pack. We brought almost the whole kitchen.
-How would you feel when you arrive to your city?
The trip was amazing and we all had lots of fun but now we really need to go back. I think we are all homesick.
-How long was your road trip to here?
Around 9 hours, because of our men who are driving we rested every two hours. We really don’t like to drive nonstop. Mostly we drove at daytime and rested at nights.
-Do you have memories traveling here growing up?
No, It’s my second time traveling here, I remember the first time my son was 3 years old.
