South Africa. Gauteng. Sharpeville. 2019. A board pinned to the wall outside the Sharpeville Massacre Memorial tells the history of the 21st March 1960 when there were 269 casualties, 69 dead, 180 injured. Of these numbers 29 were children. All succumbed to the gunfire when the police began shooting a peaceful and unarmed crowd of protesters.
