GB. England. London. 1964. A basement club in Whitechapel for predominently black people attended by a few white women. Here a mixed race couple dance the Twist. This is the Windrush generation, subject to many different kinds of racial abuse and slurs and, in 1964, four yeare before the Race Relations Act, passed in 1968, made it illegal to refuse housing, employment or public service to a person on the grounds of colour, race, ethnicity or national origin. 1964
