BRAZIL. 2019. Vera is a small town founded in 1995 and whose economy is based in soy, corn and cattle extensive production.
Mato Grosso has many young cities that were created responding to the blooming business that promised the flat, fertile and now clean of trees lands . The government encouraged and subsidized intensive agriculture in the area, following the American Mid West culture and repeating the formula that had worked in other states like Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul but with cheaper brand new land.
There is a big influence of American culture in Brazilian rural states. Rodeos, pick up vans, residential areas and teh conservative mentality of the religious belt that the government of Bolsonaro is fueling like never before.
