Due to the large number of arrivals refugees wait many days, and sometimes weeks, in precarious conditions for their registration procedure to be completed.

According to UNHCR of the 850,000 refugees and migrants arrived in Greece in 2015 more than 500,000 disembarked on the island of Lesbos.
