SYRIA. Damascus.Samira, 50, goes through rehabilitation at a center in Damascus run by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and supported by the ICRC, on Feb. 24, 2016. Samira, originally from Lataqia, was living in Homs when she suffered from a stroke from freight as she saw armed fighters in the street. Due to a lack of means and treatment in Homs, her stroke led to complications and she was forced to have her foot amputated. Later, she had a second amputation on her leg from under the knee.
