INDONESIA. Bali. 1953. A Lelong dancer prepares to perform in the great classic dance of Bali. The dancers are very popular in their community, looked upon as goddesses, and are exempt from heavy work. They have many suitors, and a prince frequently chooses a Lelong dancer for his bride as soon as she becomes of age.
