Mabrouk Hasni, 33, is a part-time contract employee for the Gafsa Phosphate Company (GPC). Mabrouk lost his father, an underground miner for the GPC, to lung cancer caused by long-term phospahte exposure.
Despite his loss, Mabrouk has accepted that he will succumb to the same fate as his father. "I am not better than anyone else, I know that I'll die because of the GPC, but at least with money I can live the years I'll be alive in peace."
