Larry Towell
USA. Whiteclay, Nebraska. 2014. Bar forced to close down due to violence by patrons. White Clay is a town consisting entirely of four liquor stores on the edge of Pine Ridge. Alcohol is legal in Whiteclay where many local Sioux live on the street. Although some residents from the reserve do not drink alcohol, 85% of families are affected, and 25% of youth suffer from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
