Elliott Erwitt
SCOTLAND. 2011. Belleville flats, Greenock, Inverclyde. Belleville Street was blitzed during World War II and rebuilt in the 1960s. A major element of the rebuild included seven, 16 storey high rise tower blocks. Each unit was named after a town in the Scottish Borders. Plagued with structural problems due to their original design and construction, the tower blocks have undergone a demolition programme which commenced in 2008. The remaining towers shown will be demolished throughout 2013.
