Elliott Erwitt
SCOTLAND. 2012. Mary Isbister, Burland Croft Trail, Trondra, Shetland Islands. Mary and Tommy Isbister have been on their land since 1976. They work hard to maintain native Shetland crops and breeds including ponies and geese, and to sustain the croft in an environmentally sound manner. Shetland ponies are known for their heavy coats and short legs, as well as their gentle intelligence and overall strength. Shetland geese are also small in stature and quite hardy; they excel at foraging and mate for life.
